BIOFEEDBACK: from behavior modification techniques, applied to mental problems, to intervention techniques for physical problems
Main Article Content
Abstract
Within its broad development, psychology as a science of behavior, has expanded in its recent history, the scope of its applications, to a wide range of health problems, traditionally considered exclusive to the medical professional, the result of division and eternal problem epistemological mind-body. This approach of psychology is not accidental, it is the response to the clear evolution of a process in the conception of clinical problems or disorders, be they organic or psychological. Among the opportunities offered by psychology through Behavioral Medicine or Health Psychology, is the biofeedback technique, which in an important way retakes its base in the biopsychosocial concept of the disease, becoming an important alternative for certain physical problems, which find in it an important point to improve the quality of life of patients who suffer from them. This article aims to make a general review of the most important aspects in the development, application and effectiveness of the intervention in this technique.
