Abstract
The aim of this article is to reflect on children's understanding of death and the elaboration of grief in times of pandemic. Updated information was collected from different scientific databases to structure the information around three components: (a) children's understanding of death; (b) the emotional and affective consequences derived from the loss of a loved one; and (c) the difficulties encountered in the elaboration of grief in times of pandemic. The conclusions show how, in times of pandemic, the elaboration of grief was more difficult because of the restrictions to participate in the processes and rituals of funeral farewells.
