Abstract
Being the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana - UPB, as its name implies, a pontifical university, marks a clear and definite north, which SS John Paul II knew in his Apostolic Constitution on Catholic Universities enacted in 1990 and, since the Institutional Education Project is reflected in each and every one of their actions. This article then presents a way of working within the School of Psychology at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Bucaramanga, from a competency model, highlighting through empirical evidence, a concept of comprehensive education in the light of the principles of Christian Humanism. The discussion does not end in the way of conceiving the issue, but becomes an apology from the argument, an invitation to reflect the concept of training, adjective with the concept of integral and ultimately from a future perspective, size the performance as a set of potentials consistent with the philosophical conception of the university. The working model also seeks to validate the actions, conceptions and curriculum frameworks that give life to a pedagogical training of men and women in the service of society and the country.
