Abstract
This paper examines the key role of relational goods in the conception of Integral Human Development (IHD), within the framework of the Social Teaching of the Church (STC). It highlights that current development theories focused on economic growth often ignore human relationships and fail to recognize them as the basis of current social and environmental issues. In contrast, IHD promotes the development of the person and the community, with its goal centered on human dignity and the potential to generate relational goods. These goods arise from genuine and reciprocal interpersonal relationships, which have economic and political value and contribute to social cohesion and the well-being of communities. The methodology adopted combines interdisciplinary perspectives from philosophy, sociology, and economics to emphasize the centrality of the person as a relational subject, inspired by the relational model of the Trinity. The results suggest that an economy and politics oriented towards IHD must integrate relational goods as essential elements. The conclusions advocate for a transformation in the development approach, emphasizing the importance of human relationships in the fight against exclusion, loneliness, and environmental challenges, proposing an economy and politics of fraternity as a way to achieve authentic human fulfillment.
