Chlamydia trachomatis conjunctivitis in newborns and infants

Abstract

We studied 50 children with clinical conjunctivitis. In 6 (12%) C. trachomatis was detected associated in 2 with S. aureus and S.epidermidis. In 26 bacterial pathogens were isolated: S. epidermidis, S. aureus, E.coli, S. pneumoniae, K. pneumoniae and H. influenzae.
