The ontological argument in Paul Tillich and Jean-Luc Marion
Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay aims at presenting the concepts related to the ontological argument in Paul Tyllich and Jean-Luc Marion. Paul Tyllich did not create his own school of thought but he has exerted his influence on many thinkers. He leads the path to further reflect, from varied methodological stances, on the ontological problem, on the reality of God and on the link between Being and culture. It can be said that, starting with him, new venues are opened to think the role of mysticism in the knowledge of Being itself, the dynamic relations in man’s life, the offering of Being as agape, the correlation between mysticism and culture. Jean-Luc Marion fulfills the ideas of Anselm and Tillich: God does not think of Himself but offers Himself.
