Scope and Purpose

Revista de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Law Program of the School of Law and Political Science at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellín, Colombia). Its purpose is to publish research findings and scholarly reflections in the field of law, offering readers new perspectives for interpretation. The journal is intended for academic and research communities in the legal sciences and seeks to promote discussion and debate on social issues of concern at the local, national, and international levels.

 

Structure

The journal is organized into the following sections:

• Editorial or Dossier Introduction: presents the contents of the issue and explains the relevance of the topics addressed.
• Open Topic: includes articles on a variety of research topics in political theory that are unrelated to the dossier theme.
• Dossier: features articles focused on a specific theme announced in advance by the Editorial Team.

For issues devoted exclusively to Open Topic, the journal modifies its section structure by omitting the Dossier section.

 

Publication Frequency

The journal follows a continuous publication model with two issues per year (January–June and July–December). Each publication period closes on June 30 and December 31, respectively.

 

Funding Model

Revista de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas is an open-access journal. It is published and fully funded by the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, a non-profit institution.

 

Review and Publication Timelines

The average time for the peer review process is six (6) months from the date the manuscript is received.

The average time from acceptance to publication is two (2) months, beginning once the manuscript has been accepted by the peer reviewers and has completed the Editorial Team's final review.

 

Open Access

The journal declares that all submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin for text similarity detection; that all content published in its online edition is open access and available for download in PDF format; that authors must certify that their submission is original, unpublished, and respects the intellectual property rights of third parties; and that reviewers must declare, through the evaluation form, that they have no conflicts of interest with either the authors or the subject matter under review.
