Correctional Facilities and Disabled Persons

Abstract

This article approaches the situation of disabled persons in correctional facilities. There is a need for a strengthened guarantee for the enjoyment of the rights of the disabled, furthermore, on the assumption of imprisonment. In the Spanish case the actions undertaken by the authorities in relation to the disabled persons in prisons, have been long deficient, regardless of the fact that on recent years some studies on the subject have been carried out revealing unsolved issues that undoubtedly demand a remaking of the approach on the subject.
