Abstract
Según el Art. 2683, el C. comenzó a regir desde su publicación y derogó todas las leyes anteriores en materia civil. (Fue publicado en el D.O. Nos. 7019, 7020 y 7021 de 20, 21 y 22 de abril de 1.887).
En su inciso segundo ordena regir por él todas las relaciones posteriores a su publicación y agrega: "PERO LAS CONTROVERSIAS Y LOS PLEITOS SOBRE ACTOS, DERECHOS, OBLIGACIONES Y CONTRA TOS ANTERIORES A LA PUBLICACION DEL PRESENTE CODIGO, SE DECIDIRAN CON ARREGLO A LAS LEYES SUSTANTIVAS QUE ESTABAN VIGENTES CUANDO SE EJECUTO EL ACTO, SE ADQUIRIO EL DERECHO SE CONTRAJO LA OBLIGACION O CELEBRO EL CONTRATO". (Subrayo).
