Resumen

La esclavitud sufrida en Egipto es una tradición que atraviesa toda la Escritura. Entre sus numerosas menciones, el libro del Deuteronomio presenta cinco textos con una redacción similar: “recuerda que fuiste esclavo en [tierra de] Egipto” (5,15; 15,15; 16,12; 24, 18 y 24, 22), los cuales invitan a hacer memoria de la opresión y actuar en favor de los pobres, como Dios lo hizo.


En este trabajo, en primer lugar, se analizan esas cinco fórmulas aplicando distintas instancias del método histórico crítico. Y luego, en la segunda parte, se realiza un ejercicio de exégesis que señala cómo el recuerdo de la esclavitud en Egipto se convierte en una exhortación a cuidar de los pobres, permitiéndoles celebrar el Sábado y Pentecostés, liberando a los esclavos hebreos y el cuidado de los necesitados. En un mundo donde persiste la trata de personas, la esclavitud, el trabajo en condiciones infrahumanas, el hambre y otras formas de opresión, este estudio busca ser un aporte a la reflexión de cómo un recuerdo doloroso puede transformarse en una praxis liberadora.
