THREE PROFILES OF THE CYNIC PHILOSOPHERS: ANTISTHENES, DIOGENES AND CRATES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Cynic philosophers have stand out because they have followed their passions, talked frankly and examined the normative artifices of their communities. The following paper aims to present, from a hermeneutical perspective, three profiles of their lives, which have in common a search for an ethical-aesthetic way of life in which is significant to act according to what is thought. Bearing this in mind, it is pretended to outline why such a philosophical perspective might guide nowadays the reflection about practices related to the care and knowledge of the self.
