Biblic Parameters for Laying the Foundation and the Workshop for Human Rights

Abstract

This paper proposes the possibility of discovering in the Christian-Jewish roots of the Western  culture, and specifically in the Bible, criteria that structure the formulation   of human dignity and its positivization in the diverse legal systems and the following requirement of defending human rights. In order to achieve this purpose, the paper exposes some interpretative principles which should be used when the biblical text is studied. Following this, the paper presents five global aspects that rise from biblical interpretation and which establish the bases of the mission underlying the work for human rights.
