Abstract

Two cases of atypical sporotrichosis characterized by dual lesions of the skin, the mucous membranes and/or the external genitalia, are presented. The diagnosis was confirmed by isolation of S. schenckii from all lesions; antimycotic treatment resulted in clinical and mycologic recovery of both patients. These cases illustrate the capacity of the fungus to cause lesions in unexpected sites thus confirming the gamut of clinical manifestations known to occur in sporotrichosis.
