Abstract
This essay aims at exploring the visual metaphor in an age that criticizes the eye, amidst an ever-growing devaluation of the image, and searches for a new ontology of the gaze. The paradoxical blindness of both eye and mind are probed. Likewise, it is a study of the disenchanted gaze in an enlightened age that debases what is human and trivializes life.
