Abstract

Three basic concepts of freedom are considered in philosophical tradition: freedom to act, freedom to elect, freedom to transcend. Aristotle, one of the major icons in philosophical tradition, is the forerunner of these three big concepts. He never explicitly mentions them but in his philosophical system they are implicit fundamentals. This paper aims at discussing their presence in Aristotle’s works.
