Abstract

A strong link could be established between the Eucharist and the Consacrated Life if one tries to answer the following questions: Which is the gift of the Eucharist to vowed religious persons? Compared to the faithful lay people, what does it mean for the vowed religious persons? Some answers can be obtained through the study of Luke 24, 13-35, if we consider this narrative as the model of a community of vowed persons who discovered Jesus following a certain process. This community reaches then a sacramental and liturgical intimacy in the fraction of the Bread. This intimacy is strengthened and matured in order to better identify and perform the community´s mission. The author ends his essay stating that through the Eucharist, the consacrated persons, and even every Christian, enters into a christifying, deifying and unifying language.
