Abstract

n this reflection on the ethical discernment of the couple: a challenge to machismo and feminism, the author presents to the reader an old and new appraisal about the life of the couple; an old appraisal, because so it was stated from the very beginning of creation: They will become one flesh; a new appraisal, because after centuries ruled by the structures of domineering and subjection, the philosophy of personnalism has given new life to the conjugal “we”. It is in this context that the conjugal mutuality has a role in the couple´s conscience and concerns its ethical discernment. To achieve this goal the article proposes some guidelines for a pedagogical action to make possible the emergence of new horizons for the human couple as it was in the beginnings of human history.
