Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay tries to explain the thomist approach to angels, demons and the problem of evil. Using the method of quaestio the author studies the following issues: the existence of angels, their nature and essence; their knowledge and activity; their origin; grace and nature related to these angelical creatures; the fallen angels and the problem of demons; the symbolism of evil. The essay reaches the following conclusion: any research around the issue of angels, demons and evil refers to two liminal questions to be found in any culture: the contact with the divinity is the result of an eagerness for meaning and the symbolism of evil is a sign and matter for deeper thoughts.
