Abstract

The degree of sensibility a believer has for the suffering of other people indicates the degree of his humanity. The contrary of humanity is brutality, a failure to recognize humanity in our neighbors, the incapacity to feel their needs and their situation. The author approaches the biblical terms which have to do with mercifulness and nearness to God with the purpose to give us some renewed methodologies which would enable us to build the Church and lead a humanizing pastoral life.
