The Theologian as a Mediator in the Process of Transforming the Society
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Catholic theologian as mediator in the society has new challenges to take up today and in the future. The intelligence of his faith makes him more and more aware of the beauty, the truth and the goodness of his history and his surroundings and, at the same time, he is able to appreciate anything good where he lives. He develops a critical approach to the dangers which are threatening the human being. The theologian, when he actually lives the truth of his life, knows that his mediation in society goes beyond the categories of science and also knows that his meaningful contribution to society is grounded not only secundum rationem but, fundamentally, in principles of the understanding of revelation, because the reading grammar he offers is above all sapiential, experimental and vital, not only scientific. His contribution becomes real when he sits down at the table of life with others as a believer in humanity and as a great communicator of hope.
