Abstract
Basic thematics of Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians are the requirement of circumcision for salvation and the question of his authority. This article is a introduction to the study of the context in which Paul exercises his authority and to the question of Biblical prophecy as argument for the main ideas of his Epistle. According to a classic saying of Biblical hermeneutics, “context explains text” and “subject is explained by community”. Paul belongs to Jewisch milieu: this fact allows to understand him better.
