Abstract

From the first attachment, throughout our lives we are influenced both by people and by the situations, beliefs and objects that we perceive, in a constant cycle of interaction and change that will leave marks on the personal history that each one will live, think and  will interpret. “The Butterfly effect”, a concept coined by the meteorologist and mathematician Edward Lorenz, states that when amplified, the slightest variation can generate a considerable change in the entire system. Since the family is a system composed of various subsystems, among which we can find that of the couple united by marriage or de facto marriage, both separation and divorce will imply a change, which will be influenced, among others, by the economic factor -understood such as the ability to generate and possess wealth in the sense of material well-being- reaching a direct impact on the paternal (maternal) filial  subsystem and co-parenting.
