Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide insight into the narrative and the collaborative approach; two family therapy approaches based on Social constructionism. In the last decade of the 20th century and the beginning of this, such approaches are characterized by their contribution to a more democratic conception of family therapy, understood as a meeting between the professional and the patient, in which meanings are reformulated and rebuilt through language as they become the core of the aid process.

The findings are derived from the documentary study on “”Foundations of the Social constructionism and the therapeutic practices inspired by them” a subject required to complete the master’s degree in family therapy at the Pontificia Bolivariana University.
