Abstract

The desire to share and disseminate the culture of the Colombian Caribbean coast in other parts of the world is the foundation of this project, which seeks to explore and clarify topics related to necropoetry. Key questions will be addressed, such as: What is necropoetry? How should this term be used? And why can the poem La gran miseria humana be considered an example of Colombian necropoetry? Furthermore, the project will examine how this poem, through its transformation into a musical work from the savanna region by the ingenuity of Maestro Lisandro Meza Márquez, has achieved remarkable prominence and recognition, becoming a fundamental piece that reflects the traditions and popular sentiment of this region. It also acts as a cultural vehicle connecting poetry with music and Caribbean identity. This analysis aims not only to better understand the concept of necropoetry but also to highlight the importance of “La gran miseria humana” as an example of the intersection between poetry and popular expressions in Colombia.
