Abstract

Living is a difficult state to summarize in a single word, due to the complexity that manifests itself at the moment of giving a judgment that encompasses all the signifiers that it contains, therefore, the question of whether or not to maintain life attacks
as a backdrop in the extreme situations or in the moments of reflection of men and, regardless of the historical moment, the question of whether it is lawful to commit suicide remains alive to shock, worry, reassure or not human beings. In the context
of this question and the links that his answers have with many current positions, we refer to Kant and his pre-critical and critical reading of the act, in which he apparently positions himself in the sector that rejects action. This work aims to open an interpretive possibility that goes beyond the rejection and the twraditional arguments with which it is intended to solidify this negative position and for this purpose, a tour of the concept will be made, understanding that this is the source of many disparities. Later, we will be review the arguments from the Kantian philosophy and its ethical horizon against this act, trying to glimpse other possibilities that make the act compatible or questionable the negative arguments in the light of the categorical imperative, a fact that implies changing the common places in what we stop when we approach the question and move to a critical state in which we look at suggestions and the background of the positions.
