Abstract

The author presents an analysis on the importance and present-day effect of medical secrecy, based in the right and need of the human being to preserve his Intimacy. Such a right is not lost in spite of the fact that actual medical practices allow other professionals and employees, besides the physician in charge, to know the complete clinical record of the patent or some data pertaining to such a record. The secrecy also encompasses these persons with all its rigour. The secrecy is equally sustained when computers are used. The exceptions to this rule of ethics are presented and Information Is given concerning the data that the patient, the relatives and the community should receive.
