Public health policies in Colombia and their relationship with the phenomenon of intimate partner violence

Abstract

Intimate partner violence has been and continues to be a phenomenon of high incidence in the world population, it has been present in very diverse cultures to the point of being seen as something "normal" and typical of the forms of interaction of men and women in your closest relationships. Due to the dimensions that the phenomenon in question has been taking and the damage or sequelae that has been proven to leave in the people who suffer it, public and private institutions have seen the need to pay more attention to it and generate policies aimed at managing of the problems that are generated, given that it has been shown that they not only affect each one within the home or relationship, but also society in general, as the mental health of the population is affected and, therefore , the social and economic development of nations, among others. From this work it is intended to give a general look at the issue in question in relation to public policies and the way in which they approach or approach the problem.
