An Anthropological Reading of the Second General Conference of Latin American Bishops
Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the major contributions given by the pilgrim Church in Latin America to the other Churches has been centering her theological thinking and pastoral care on the issue of the Latin American person. It is not carried out on a speculative level but with a practical acuteness which is still illuminating our particular Church in Latin America, becoming a reference for other continents, even the First World under the new circumstances. This article describes for us the rough road travelled by this institution before the Conference of Medellín, after the Council of Vatican II, in the immediate context caused by the prevailing circumstances and also in the aftermath of the Conference, following thus a path cleared for all the Latin American believers.
