Abstract

The construction of reservoirs has left multiple villages flooded around the world. Its inhabitants are forced to move, waiting for the reconstruction of a new village. This work aims to analyze the villages flooded by hydroelectric projects, as non-places, as they are spaces without identity. It also establishes the concept of heterotopy and the configuration of peoples fractured and stripped of their reality. In this way, we interpret what changed in the wake of the flood with respect to cultural identity, the economic and the geographical, and we construct a poetics that brings together the memories of these peoples and their common object: water.

The methodology to arrive at these concepts was the processing of cards, in which a problematic area was explored under the parameters of some precepts chosen to undertake the analysis, such as the people, the flood, the non-place. The next step was to analyze by means of a matrix the following spheres: the people as a place of asphyxiation; memory and pain, and how these move and become a way of life. Within the framework of the qualitative paradigm, we have a scope of the exploratory and descriptive method.
