Abstract
Globalization, which changes traditional paradigms and transform the social, economic and political relations in contemporary society, is a parallel phenomenon that fuels and justifies the imposition of neoliberal economic doctrine, which calls for reducing the regulatory role of state and public space, breaking a growing trend initiated since the Renaissance.
The State is no longer the organizer of social life, it is the market now. The finance-economic prevails over the government-political. Everyday life depends on economic, social, political and cultural processes beyond the control of the State. In this context, the “status quo” is determined by international organizations which impose rules and conditions to the national States.
