Abstract

This paper is an exercise to revise the different theoretical views, the sense of domination and the tension between the concepts of, first, structure and society and, second, structure and agency, as it is shown in  the movie “Iron jawed Angels” (von Garnier, 2004) in which it can be seen the struggle for women’s rights to vote in the first twenty years of the twentieth century in the United States, struggle in which Alice Paul, the leader of the process, accompanied by a group of women, got a historical change of direction of a patriarchal, social and political structure that used to limit their feminine liberty and autonomy, not only in the public space, but also in their home lives.
