  1. Citation Format

The 6th edition of the APA system will be used for citation.

Short quotations (3 lines or less) will be included within the text using quotation marks. Long quotations (more than 3 lines) will be separated from the text using a free-standing block of typewritten lines. Include a blank line at the beginning and the end of the block to separate it from the text. Start the quotation on the new line, indented 1 cm from the left margin and type the entire quotation on the new margin. In both cases the source should be mentioned, i.e., author’s last name, year of publication and page number for the reference. Also, a complete reference should be included in the reference list at the end of the text.

If there is a signal phrase which mentions the author, type the year of publication in parentheses following the author, e.g.

According to Pasquali (2011), to express, is just the

pre-requisite for a success communication.

If the author is not mentioned in the signal phrase, place the author’s last name and year of publication in parentheses after the quotation, e.g.

To express is just the pre-requisite for a success

communication (Pasquali, 2011).

Henao et al. (2011), there is a kind of an empty space of the didactic strategies on the regular class that should support the kids’ integration process.

If the work is written by more than six authors, et al. is used from the first time the source is cited.

Footnotes will only be used for explanatory notes or for providing additional information. They must not be used for bibliographical reference.

If a work that is cited within another work is used in the elaboration of the paper, i.e. a secondary source, a mention of the original work and the author is necessary; followed by the reference of the primary source where the quote is found preceded by the expression “as cited in”. The reference list must only contain the primary source, unless the secondary source has also been used as a primary source.

In order to quote classical works, it is suggested to specify the original date of publication and the publication date of the book used. In the case of not being able to identify the original date of publication, reference only the date of publication of the book used preceded by the word “Trans.”. Parts of classical works, such as books, chapters, verses, lines or cantos, are numbered systematically, so use these numbers instead of page numbers. It is not necessary to include classical works in the reference list.

Aristotle argues in On Interpretation that: “Name, is a meaningful sound that does not indicate time, and of which no part is meaningful alone” (Trans. 2008, 2, 20).
