It’s four in the morning, still in the dark in the city of Medellin. We all meet at one of the gates of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, the one located on Nutibara Avenue. There, one by one, the members of the team of professionals from the Research and Transfer Department of the University, other researchers from the Environmental Research Group (GIA) and other allies start gathering, until the group of 17 people was complete. It was the first of many visits to the village of Santa Isabel in Remedios, Antioquia, and to other municipalities in the department, throughout the five years that this exercise lasted.
