Climate Change: An Analysis from the Perspectives of Ecosophy and Holistic Utilitarianism

Abstract
This article offers a philosophical reflection on the climate crisis through Arne Naess’s concept of ecosophy as a normative “wisdom of the common home,” and on holistic utilitarianism as a non-speciesist, non-anthropocentric ethical theory, in that way, the article contends that philosophical dialogue between ecosophy and holistic utilitarianism provides the critical and normative tools necessary to promote deep ethical and political change in response to the urgent environmental challenges of our time.
