The weekly paschal mystery: an approach to the sunday celebration from the perspective of the church fathers
Main Article Content
Abstract
T he revitalization of the Sunday celebration in the Christian faith is an essential, not merely, an accessory notion. Since ancient times, Sundays regulated the pace of life of the believer. It was not only the celebration of an alien and past event, but also the affirmation of faith, the day for meeting between brothers, the day of utmost hope and full alignment with the Lord. To present and retrieve this experience for today’s Christians it is necessary to look again at the event which is closest to the Jesus experience, and present, from this point of view, the true Sunday celebration as it should be. The Church Fathers must be heard again and their input for the pastoral work of the contemporary Church must be accepted.
