Structural analysis of a literary work involves detailed knowledge of each of its components to understand the whole sense that is found implicit in them, when they are taken together. Pedro Páramo’s structure has many elements whit a very complex interrelation among these are the use of past and present tenses to narrate. As off the formalist theory concepts demonstrates this narrative way can be considered as a procedure of delaying, because it delays the arrival to the end of the story ―the death of Pedro Páramo― and allows the reading throughout small derived fragments from that narrative way.
