The Will To Power and Reliability: A Dialogue Between van Gogh, Nietzsche, and Heidegger

Main Article Content

Abstract

The following paper considers the possibility of reflection on the association between philosophy and
art, which sets itself apart form pragmatism and takes over two concepts to reconsider Van Gogh and
purpose another point of view. In that way, the first thing that comes up is the question for usefulness
of philosophy and art; then Nietzsche´s will power which embodies Van Gogh, and finally Heidegger´s
reliability from “A pair of shoes” by the same artist. The argument seeks to problematize the painting´s
and artist´s experience to be an invitation to find those issues around human being, beyond its utility
or a way for coming up for sensations.
