Ceforanide vs lincomycin in the treatment of acute tonsillopharyngitis due to beta-hemolytic streptococcus group A (EBHA)

Abstract
One group of 40 children with group A streptococcal pharyngotonsillitis were treated, 20 with one dally I.m. dose of ceforanide and 20 with one dally dose of Iincomycin l.m. for 10 days. One hundred per cent were clinically cured and 95% were bacteriologically cured in each group. The use of antibiotics in acute and chronic tonsillitis is discussed.
