Revista Textos accepts research articles and essays written in Spanish and English. Submissions must be original and unpublished, and must not have been submitted—neither in whole nor in part—to other journals previously or simultaneously.

Submission Platform
Submissions will only be accepted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform for submission and peer review.

Editorial Process

Upon receipt, submissions will undergo a preliminary review by the editorial team to verify basic editorial requirements. Only those submissions that clearly meet thematic relevance, writing quality, contribution to knowledge, topic significance, originality, clarity, proper referencing, and academic rigor will be forwarded for double-blind peer review.

• The initial editorial review may take up to three months after submission.

• The peer review process and final decision (acceptance/rejection) may take up to six months from the date of submission.

The Editor-in-Chief will determine whether a submission is accepted for publication based on reviewers’ evaluations. The editor may request a third review if necessary. The editor may also decide to reserve a manuscript for publication in a future issue and will inform the author accordingly.

Revista Textos reserves the right to perform stylistic editing as deemed necessary.

Authors are advised to check the status of their submission through their OJS account. If a submission is accepted but requires revisions, authors will have three weeks from the notification date to complete the revisions. The outcome of the revised submission will be communicated via the OJS email system.

The journal observes the first semester of the year as the call for submissions period, and the second semester as the period for peer review decisions, editing, and final validations. The issue for each year is published in March of the following year.

Research Articles

A research article presents the results of ongoing or completed academic research. Its structure must include:

• Title (in Spanish and English)

• Abstract (max. 120 words)

• Keywords (4–6, from the UNESCO Thesaurus)

• Introduction

• Methodology

• Results

• Conclusions

• References

Presentation Parameters:

• Languages: English or Spanish

• Number of Authors: Maximum of 2 (order based on contribution)

• Citation Style: APA 7th edition

• Minimum References: 10

• Word Count: 4,000 to 6,000 words

• Quotation Limit: Direct quotes must not exceed 10% of the total word count

• Footnotes: Only for annotations, max. 50 words

• File Format: Word document

  • Images must be submitted separately in JPG format

  • Tables must be submitted in editable Excel format

  • Screenshots of images or tables will not be accepted

  • Do not include author names or identifying information in the manuscript

• Margins: 2.57 cm on all sides

• Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing

• Submission Requirements:

  • (1) Declaration of originality and copyright transfer

  • (2) Submission registration form

• Publication Date: March annually

• Submission Deadline for Consideration: August 1 of each year

  • Submissions after this date will be considered for the following year's issue

Essays

Essays are argumentative texts that do not necessarily rely on empirical or research validation but must present a coherent, logical discourse supported by bibliographic references. Structure:

• Title (in Spanish and English)

• Body

• References

Presentation Parameters:

• Languages: English or Spanish

• Number of Authors: 1

• Citation Style: APA 7th edition

• Minimum References: 5

• Word Count: 2,000 to 4,000 words

• Quotation Limit: Direct quotes must not exceed 10% of the total word count

• Footnotes: None

• File Format: Word document

  • Images must be submitted separately in JPG format

  • Tables must be submitted in editable Excel format
