Abstract

Hereditary deafness and its different ways of transmission have been defined. A brief description of the embryonic development of the external, medium and internal ear, found in these cases, is discussed. There is a final classification of conductive and neurosensory deafness. Occurrence by common syndromes is discussed as well as affecting different organs.
