Abstract

A case of Pasteurella multocida meningitis In a 49 year’s old man with skull trauma ins presented. P. multocida Infections are frequently associated with animal contact, the most common cases Involve localized soft tissues Infections, chronic respiratory diseases and bacteremia with or without metastatic complications; meningitis Is one of the complications. Symptoms are indistinguishable from other bacterial meningitis.  Treatment is based on the use of penicillin. Twenty one cases of P. multocida meningitis in adults have been described In the English Literature; the frequency of this kind of Infection in Colombia Is unknown.
