Abstract

In Medellin, 107 children with acute enteritis were studied. Their stool specimens were cultured on a selective media for Campylobacters, and then the colonies were classified. Two positive cases for Campylobacter fetus biotype jejuni were obtained. On the basis of these results, we can say that C. jejuni is present in Medellin, but its incidence seems to be low in contrast with information published from some industrialized countries.
