Abstract

A presentation of Dr. Manuel Jose Sierra as Rector of University of Antioquia is made. Some of his most outstanding personal gifts are signaled especially that of being a great organizer which deserved him the title of “Second Founder of the University of Antioquia”. In the same way when he later was asked to organize the new Catholic Bolivarian University he demonstrated the same energetic activity and leadership going parallel with his humane capacity to relate with the students. He died when he was the first Rector of this new University that he started and impulsed and that was very early recognized for the top quality of its teaching body and the brilliancy of Its first graduate promotions.
