Alcoholic extract of the Human Placenta: Chemical Composition and Potential Applications

Abstract
Sorne countries have advanced in development and utilization of biological materials to contribute for the improvement of certain illnesses and for give a special value to these compounds, that have been considered as residues. Ir is the case of human placenta, that in Colombia hasn’ t had an applicability, otherwise it is rejected and buried. Countries like Cuba have introduced treatments and therapies for sorne illnesses with human placental extracts, to profit by its potential as an effective and natural medicine. An alcoholic human placental extract has been developed as lipids and hormones source that eventually could be used for cosmetic products and therapies for human illnesses. In the executed trials, sorne extracts have been obtained and depending on their use, could represent a possible development of bioactive compounds for cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.
