Abstract

A case of actinomycetoma of the knee in a 17 vears-old patíent is reported. The simultaneous presence of edema, draining sinuses and granules in the exudate suggested the diagnosis. N. brssiliensis, was isolated in culture. Combined antimicrobial (Trimethoprim·sulfamethoxozale) and surgery resulted in marked clinical improvement.
