Abstract

We present the case of a female patient with infectious Endocarditis caused by bacteria from the Haemophilus group, which developed on previously damaged valves, presented minor embolization during the clinical course, and responded well to parenteral ampicillin treatment. Emphasis is made on the need for clinical suspicion of the disease, the high frequency of embolization In this type of infection, the possibility of polimicrobial infection and the Importance of adequate studies with blood cultures.
