Abstract

A review is made of the development of the Bioengineering as an interdisciplinary technique in which participate physicians, biologists, engineers, physicist, mathematicians, system engineers and chemists. The contributions of Bioengineering in medical practice, in research as well as in the diagnosis and treatment, are remarked.
