Main Article Content
Abstract
Some of the technological applications that have come to be standards in today’s practice of obstetrics and gynecology (such as assisted reproduction techniques, prenatal diagnosis by ultrasound and cytogenetic studies, therapeutic abortions, selective terminations, etc.) are mentioned. Certain situations are also considered, such as the loss of respect for hippocratic paradigms, the respect for human life, and the current paradoxical situation in which medical technology has converted itself into a menace to mankind.
