Abstract

The conceptual development of the International Anatomical Nomenclature is analized in this work, making reference to hystoric aspeets associated with diverse morphologic terms. The different world congresses ofanatomists have proposed a Universal anatomical language making emphasis on the use of a common language in the different healths areas, specialiy in Medicine. Various written elements are faced, in which the use of terms is different in many cases, leading to confusion, mainly respeet the inappropiate use of eponyms which give Little functional meaning in the anatomic terminology, making learning something complex and of poor little reflection about the term meaning and it's functional asociation. It is concluded that: the use of the International Anatomical Nomenclature is rarely adopted in Latin American countries.
