Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is the product of an investigation carried out with young Colombian peasants, about the social representations of sustainable development and citizen participation; and the work carried out within the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Environmental Culture program. Research regarding the types of knowledge that exists about natural resources and the representations of the environment that surrounds us, shows the degree of valuation that is given to these resources. Environmental psychology is a fundamental tool for directing environmental education strategies that allow achieving objectives to generate environmentally responsible behavior in individuals.
